And I'm Back

Whoops. I forgot to write in this- to you (who ever reads this) so, mom. Actually I don't even think my mom knows what a blog is.

Here is an update on life:

A couple weeks ago Chels and I ventured up into San Francisco for another night out on the town. Our plan was to shop all day, but we ended up getting a drink at 12:00 pm at lunch. This lasted until 2 am. We went out in the Mission district for the first time, which was a major change in crowd. Below is the very first thing we saw when we arrived in San Francisco. For those of you who are not familiar with the area - this is nothing.

Yes, it’s a man with one leg on crutches begging in the middle of the road.

Last weekend was Labor Day weekend, and I made it home to Boise at the last minute. My family decided to fall apart on the first day I was there, so I went shopping. As my mother and I were shoe shopping at Shoe Carnival, a Common Nighthawk was clearly injured in the parking lot and unable to fly. Naturally my mom grabbed a Burger King bag out of the trash, walked over, waited until the bird tired, then captured it. She then yelled at me to go into Shoe Carnival and get her a shoe box. I was flustered and didn't move fast enough. Within minutes, she had the bird completely covered and in her arms and was stabbing a shoe box repeatedly with scissors at the front desk of the store. The manager came over to my mom with an extremely worried face and asked "...umm.. Mam, have you been helped?" Shoe Carnival was having a buy one get one 1/2 off sale, so there were plenty of customers staring at the two of us with complete shock and concern. No news on the bird’s current health.

Now I'm back in SJ and trying to get everything organized. Work has been going really great. I'm starting to feel very comfortable and a lot more settled. Tomorrow is Friday, and you know what that means.... more adventures.

Till next time-
